An association with several institutions

The organisation uses both Buntara Yane Nadavara Mathr Sangha and the English form Bunts Alias Nadavara Mathr Sangha. Its women’s hostel identifies the parent body as an association formed in 1908. The Sangha’s institutional address is SRS Home at Bunts Hostel, a familiar Mangaluru landmark. Individual institutions have their own names and histories, so the date of a school or hostel should not be mistaken for the date of the association itself.

Women’s accommodation since 1949

Sri Ramakrishna Vidyarthini Bhavan traces its establishment to 1949 and describes accommodation for students and working women. Its stated admission scope includes women from all castes and communities. The hostel’s location in Lalbagh, opposite the municipal corporation, is separate from the Bunts Hostel address used by the parent body. A women’s management team and resident wardens are described on its official site, alongside cultural and extracurricular activities.

From school to college

Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions identifies the Sangha as the management behind its nursery, primary and high-school provision. The school’s account dates its establishment to 1980. That education work later expanded into higher education: Sri Ramakrishna College’s 2023–24 annual report records the college’s establishment in 2005 and its relationship to the Sangha.

These dates show an institutional sequence rather than a single founding event. The college report also describes hostel support for students, making accommodation part of the wider educational setting. Readers looking for admissions should distinguish the school, college and women’s hostel, each of which publishes information under its own institutional identity.

A coastal community role

Reporting in April 2026 places the association’s membership and organisational reach across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasaragod, with connections overseas. It also records plans for a centenary building complex and a community survey. These were described as future work, not completed services. Alongside that wider organising role, the existing educational institutions provide the clearest documented picture of the Sangha’s everyday public contribution.
