Different bodies working together
Reports distinguish Bunts Sangha Puttur Taluk from the Puttur taluk committee of the Mangaluru Mathr Sangha. They also name women’s, youth and student sections as collaborators. For a reader, this explains why several related names may appear on one invitation without representing one undifferentiated organisation.
The November 2025 announcement for Bantere Serige set out a programme at M. Sunder Ram Shetty Memorial Buntara Bhavana, including honours for achievements in different fields. It named the taluk Sangha as organiser and the Mathr Sangha committee as a guiding partner.
Education in the public record
Bunts’ Sangha Bangalore’s official gallery records a Puttur scholarship distribution with the local Sangha, dated 12 July 2025 in the gallery index. This establishes a concrete educational partnership beyond the town. A separate official account from St Philomena College records the Puttur Sangha awarding an Outstanding Teacher honour with the Ashwini Gold Medal to a member of its faculty.
Together these records show support for students and recognition of teaching. They are different forms of educational work: a scholarship helps a learner continue, while an award acknowledges an educator’s contribution. Neither source supplies a current application form or a standing entitlement.
The October 2026 gathering
Suddi Puttur’s report of Bantere Serige on 3 October 2026 records merit recognition for 23 SSLC and pre-university students and scholarships for 82 students. It also describes honours across teaching, agriculture, sport, public service and other fields. The event again brought the association’s different sections together at the memorial Bhavana.
Discussion of a proposed future hall at Samethadka also appears in the report. That proposal should be distinguished from the existing venue where the gathering actually took place.
Connections into the countryside
In September 2026 the Puttur taluk association was named among the guiding bodies for Alankaru’s Kesara Donji Kusala event at Perabe. Nelyadi’s regional association supported the programme. This connection extends the picture beyond formal awards: the same network also helps bring families from Puttur and Kadaba into seasonal outdoor cultural activities.
